Anna’s Secret, this wine from the coast of Tuscany reveils a secret of wine making: modern winemaker came up with the idea of what the French call "Rosé de saigné" - a wine from bleeding the grapes! A strong wine is the the result of the ratio between juice and tannins from the skins of the grapes. When you take away a little juice at the beginning of fermentation, the ratio is different - a stronger wine! This first juice (the bleeding) they took to make the remaining juice more tannic has the same characteristics as the red wine. No surprise: it is the same wine, except that it has less colour! We love Anna s secret because it is a Rosé from "bleeding". Therefore it has all what you expect from great red wine - great complexity - but with the freshness and elegance of a white wine - the best of both worlds!
